FOR INSTANT GRATIFICATION, press the R key (Randomize), then click the Run button.
All of Seq-303's controls are live at all times, so you can interact with the sequence in real time. Play with the loop buttons and the motion controls; change the notes in your sequences with the sliders; tweak resonance or any other parameter with the assignable slider.
The Auto-export function lets you automatically save each performance as a MIDI file on the Desktop or in any other location in your system.
You can start or stop playback by pressing the Space bar.
If your synthesizers support the use of NRPNs (non-registered parameter numbers), you can control these parameters from Seq-303 by specifying the proper controllers in the Controller Assignments dialog.
Don't overlook the right mouse button when exploring Seq-303. It brings up additional commands and menus for most of the controls, including the displays in the status bar.
You can transpose Seq-303 from an external MIDI keyboard by selecting a MIDI input in the Options property sheet.
You can fine-tune the position of the slider that has the focus with the arrow keys.
You can copy a performance from Seq-303 to the Clipboard by selecting Copy MIDI File from the Edit menu. This can then be pasted into Cakewalk or any other sequencer that can read a MIDI file from the clipboard.
You can run create polyphonic music by running multiple instances of Seq-303. Select either of the Launch commands in the File menu. All instances of Seq-303 are automatically synchronized with one another and with other Techno Toys.
Seq-303 plays all notes with the same length, but you can create rhythms by setting the Velocity sliders of specific notes to zero.
You can select any sequence by typing in the numbers 01 through 16 at any time.
The keys Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+5 can be used to quickly select any of the five rows of sliders.
If you have a Roland GS- or Yamaha XG-compatible instrument, you can select program variations with the Program Bank controls. See your instrument's manual for details.
If your instrument supports NRPN controllers and is not listed in the Controller Assignments dialog, you can create your own NRPN definition files with information from the back of your owner's manual. See the Help system for full details.
Seq-303 can act as a simple drum machine. Set the MIDI channel to 10, then set the sliders to the select different drums. You can layer multiple drum parts by running multiple instances.
